What Happens When You Get ‘Too’ Into Effects

Splendid.
Karl.

I know you may not think that I believe that is possible. But it most definitely is. And this video points that out perfectly…and painfully…and oh sweet mercy, make it stop–fully. (?) Now, this is a pretty famous video, and what Alexander Dumble was thinking in hiring this guy to demo his $50,000 amps is beside the point. (And this is probably the only time you’ll ever hear me refer to a $50,000 amp as ‘beside the point’; so you know this has got to be bad.) Is it the worst marketing idea in history? Even worse than the Boss pedal kiosks? Yes. But it pales in comparison to what Henry Kaiser is doing on the guitar.

This is the worst thing you’ve ever heard:

I am speechless…………Okay, no I’m not. The sweat pants are awesome! And yes, he did say, ‘Like a little demon came along and did something crazy with the wang bar.’ But, let this serve as a reminder…a painful one…and probably one that will haunt us in our nightmares when we’re old…that too many effects and not enough soul can be a very, very bad thing. No. I’m currently listening to it again, as I embed the video in this post. It can be the worst thing you can ever have imagined in life.

(I can’t even say ‘splendid’ on this one).
Karl.
